Hi Aseem,

I'm doing good. Well, it is not my but your unprofessional attitude taht made me to stay away from BMC. I believe Naveen must have spoken to you in this regard. It takes me 2 atleast any time I need to come for visit. Last time when I turned up, there was no one for meet. When I contacted Naveen, he said that he was not feeling well and 2-3 more members were not coming so they just scraped the meet that day. Well, I could have been informed too dude. THAT WAS A UNPREFESSIONAL ATTITUDE ON YOUR SIDE. Worst was yet to come. When I asked Naveen about meet being cancelled, he said about having had a fight with his manager for release (he had put papers and wanted to leave his compnay soon). Due to dght he was feeling low and decided not to come and "also got meet cancelled". Let me ask you one thing straight, is the club on the mercy of founding/leading members. I don't think so and that why I've decided to leave BMC. It was nothing started from my side BUT YOU.

Meeting being cancelled is OK. I got no problem with that. But try to understand, I came to know only when I reached there.

I'll surely meet you and collect the money. Please let me know your cell number (Don't scrap. send mail).

Thanks for visit to my blogs. Read the top most like of it. I write straight from my heart. Probably you forgot to read replies from Naveen. Your kinda attitude is very much disheartening. I don't show any kinda disrespect to you and I have no time for thinking it. Mind your words!

Biking is your passion and you need not tell me. I don't know if my blogs hurt you sooooooooo much. There was nothing wrong from your side.. but.. I fail to understand why have you using this kinda language. Dude, all memeber are interested in make the club happen as much they can. I don't know your and your ability to make Club sucessful. I must agree that BMC will be successful sooner or later, but I'm not part of it.

Let me know if you fidn anything wrong with the blogs. Reply or post comment. I'll surely change it. I don't write what makes me feel good. I write anything memorable (good or bad) with time constraint.

You need not be sorry. but I don't think ther was any unprofessional attitude started by me. Nothing is rubbish, untrue on my blogs. Probably you should ask the mber(s) who cancelled the meet. I feel that's better. I have been biking for pretty long time and among 100+ people I know no one has even travelled more than 50 km in single stretch and I have done close to 200 without taking a single second break. I do not need a certification/affiliation from you or BMC for me being a good biker.

why shouyld I care about someone else also having come and disappointed due to not having informed about cancelled meet. It could have been put on BMC forum atleast by 6 PM. Meet starts by 7:30.

I never ever sopke to anyone about the club. I don't know you actually. did you hear me having haid any comment about you then those are fabricated and wrong. I don't even know where you stay in Bangalore. I've never said anything good/bad about you to anyone.
----------------

dude... It was very well conveyed to Naveen that I wouldn't be coming to meet hence forth. Last week, indeed I was traveling. I'm in Bangalore now.

Naveen is a coward having deleted those scraps today . I feel pity on him.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I came to know Naveen through MicroStrategy forum. He was the one who introduced me to Bangalore Motoring Club. Had a good ride! need less to say. But I freaked out at his attitude. That's history. He deleted those Orkut scraps that I had posted in earlier blog, such a loser. Has marked me to "ignore" on Orkut. It was coincident that I browsed "BMC" friend group and found him missing.

Confession of a Innocent mind

This year, I footed the bill of Christmas party. That was great to meet all friends after such a long time. When the party was to start, Neil told me that Merv had called up when he was coming home after mid night mass. When Neil said that Ashish was giving Christmas party, he was laughing for 5 minutes.

I thought to irritate Sa by calling her at 3 AM in night (Matchbox twenty suggestion - Baby, it's 3 AM and I'm must be lonely). She didn't pick up the phone. alright, I gave her a another call at 4 this time, but still no reply. I thought record my voice to play that to her sometime later. I spoke a lot. Just heard the conversation, only first 20 minutes. Total is almost an hour. Well, I can't really disclose anything of that recording. Waaaaaaaaaaaayo tooooooooooo personal. Mostly full of a some particular words (I don't swear). I need not tell all these to Sa soon explicitly as I have told to her, but I never packed all those things together. I still need to listen 50 minutes of conversation. Don't know what I spoke also my voice sounded totally differently.

Bombay is the best. BEST is Bombay

I just spoke with my father, few minutes back. I wanted to get a confirmation about the new cell SIM activatation, as due to terrorist threat verification and activation takes time. Duds/Thugs still manage to do away wtih it. I have had some terrible time in Chennai and Bangalore as I was not having any means to call up my family. Though in Mumbai there was none. When I was speaking with father, there was BEST bus (Mumbai public bus transport, needless to say, really best in Asia) in background honking. BEST buses have a pecular horn. Just reconnects me to my city. In fact, Bus is the first thing that I would think of for Mumbai as city.

I'm flying to Mumbai in evening. Hope there is no much work. Last time due to terrorist attacks in High Couts of U.P. state, security check in took me almost 2 hours (usual time 15 minutes). Three days back, threatening mails were received about IGI (Delhi Airport) bombing. Hope I get clearance soon at airport.

Leaving BMC

I had already made up my mind about leaving Bangalore Motoring Club (BMC) as it was very insulting not keeping me informed about the meet being cancelled in time. I had reached venue in time and it was very well told by Abhijit that unless until told you must be there "No one would be invited/told about place and time".

This chat, through Orkut scraps, with Naveen Manohar was the last nail in coffin. A premature death. (happened on 15th Dec 2007 around 11 PM)

NM - Hello sir....

AT - bolo.... why your google id committed suicide?

NM - he he... wasn't in good mood for ze last couple of days, i deleted my orkut profile, gmail account and everything else

AT - abe mood can't be a reason??? tell me the truth...

NM - "Am telling you the truth, nothing but the truth" This profile is only for friends who i know and have interacted with !The old one was pretty much out of control !

AT - where you joining BTW and when?? [Kanti told me about the new job offer he had got]

NM - What's this joining thing ?? I have an offer from Target, but my boss won't leme go ! Am goin nowhere sir...

AT - what do you mean by this "out of control"?? This is plain ridiculous

NM - aaaah kaaamaaan.. forget about that old profile.. here i am, all new, clean shaven, sleek profile

AT - whatever.. I don't feel like coming to weekly meets at all. I have started looking for some option. I may join junta at 60 kmph. This is just taking the club for ride by founding and leading members. Damn pissed if I have to waste my time.
I was not at all in mood to come still drove for an hour to come there..

NM - i was in mental torture that evening dooood.. called up a few ppl and then decided to cancel the show... basically, i didn't wanna come there that day after the bad day i had at office fighting wid higher ups for relieving me early .. i just rushed back home and slept !

AT - dude.. you should know the game....

NM - The same situation you were in a couple of months back when you were trying to quit Convergys, i was going through it on Friday ! [Note : My ex-employer was Covansys, wrongly mentioned as Convergys by Naveen]

ok..

Ashish, just join 60kmph and have fun yaar ! forget abt BMC.. seriously..

AT - yeah.. I told you .. It was very bad feeling when I read your SMS about meet being canceled. I have to spend 2 hr just in traveling in the traffic and I'm god damn allergic to smoke. I get headache in second the first time I inhale CO2.

NM - So, no worries, this won't happen all the time yaar... Now, do one thing - forget about BMC and the meets... check out 60 kmph too... that choice is always yoursbut, please accept my apologies coz am the one who cancelled the show !Anways, goodnite yaar am gonna crash now.. tc.. bye for now

AT - sure. I don't feel like coming to meets. I'll do check out other options available.
Very strage that just one member can cancel the meet.

AirTel - Express Yourself

I happen to know insiders in Hutch (now Vodafone) and AirTel. Both companies are involved in fixing market for long. I had given numerous example to my friends and once had lengthly discussion with Mayuresh (he is a Business Analyst with Covansys - a CSC company). The recent hike in call rates and SMS charges by both operators on same day is a good example of it. I have some peculiar examples with me. But leave all that aside. AirTel is the creator of best ads in the "Express Yourself" series. Here is another one.

Black Friday

After a long long time, finally, my stock portfolio doesn't have anything in red. Spice Jet, Ashok Layland and Empee have always given me jitters. Specially, Spice Jet, which was always in the red the day I bought. BTW, I made windfall gain in Piramyd Retail. 120% in 10 days, thanks to Edelweiss Capital Limited. Even though the stock gained 5% next day of sale, I don't regret. I can't believe such a huge gain in such a short span of time. Kolte Patil has come out to be a bad IPO. Just 24% gain on listing day.

My father has just learnt that I have started investing in stocks. He happen to having gone to J B Nagar home to collect mails and he saw a refund challan of Rs 81200. Book running lead manager send the proof of refund to the registered address. He hadn't said anything but I know the day I lose money in stock, I'd be hearing a lot from him. "You know stock market. It is gambling. Those who don't do anything invest in stock market. Are you a crorepati? Only big shots put money in stocks?" I can imagine all that.

What's Business Intelligence?

This is the most common question that I have faced after the metric options. I have a simple answer to it, in my own way. "It is modern age custom wisdom".

Nameless fear

Yesterday while waiting for fellas of Bangalore Motoring Club (BMC), I spoke with Sa and we had a nice discussion about commitment, emotional investment, love and fear. She is totally different kinda person. She can't take risk and I always lived and live on edge. For her dating and love or filmy stuff and one should stay away from it. She laughs away when she sees people in park. Viola! and she found herself on the other side when me met. I had said once "I always do what my heart says" and "She is my parent's choice". These two things make her feel insecure and she doesn't want to be attached and doesn't want to get feeling of it. Well! it is a fault from both side. may be not. It is just different thinking. It can change with time. It can worse or even better. Don't know what future holds. BTW, I need to describe her in one word. Thinking. The phone got cut when I was speaking. SIM has a problem. It would disconnect exactly after 30:01 minutes. I can prove it, but don't want to.

Well, I always do what my heart says but I would be very reasonable than most sane person. But the fear thing was very bad to hear. Either I trust some one unconditionally or don't trust. Things are not really good; at least I don't feel good about the whole thing. I hate people when they don't 101% trust me as I don't waste my time thinning evil. Only evil mind (who know about evil things) don't trust. Some fear.... why?? I'm puzzled.

BTW, may be time to say good bye to BMC has come. Meet got canceled. Guys wasted my 3 hours.

Mamma has come home

I got call from mom using co-passenger's cell phone at 7:20 to reach station. It was really late as train was suppose to reach station @ 7:50. I was not aware of route too (At least on road). I took wrong turn at NGEF, instead of Isolation Church, but quickly realized it. When I passed Bypanahalli railway crossing, it was 7:47 (the guy whom I let hitch hike told me). I knew that was the train. I sped up above 70 in that narrow lane. I have stopped going above 50 in city limits after the accident, but wanted to reach Bangalore East station ASAP. It took me just around 5 minutes to reach station and I found it wore a deserted look. Luckily the train had not come and the I was was some other train. The ticket counter was closed. I had entered the station w/o platform ticket which is illegal. Petty bad of station master as there was a board stating a fine of Rs 250 for not having appropriate ticket but the ticket counter was closed. It was 8:20 and the train had not come, but the counter opened so knew the train would not be far. I was first guy to buy ticket.

While waiting I had received a call from from dad and Indu didi saying the B1 compartment would be the 6th compartment from engine. But when the train arrived it was not. Probably the train direction was changed during couse of journey. Need to check it out. After this, was the toughest job in Bangalore. I BLOODY HATE BANGALORE TO NEGOTIATE WITH RICKSHAW. I've never done it in my whole life anywhere. The guy said 120 for Kagdaspura. When we kept the stuff in rick, he was !@#$%ing surprised to hear to be going to 1km after the Kagadaspura railway crossing. I knew that he was goingto take 150. and I also came to know he duped me very big time as metered fare woun't have had been more than 80 at any cost. Metered fare of Airport from my home is 37 which is 5.3 km far. I calculated using Wikimapia and Bangalore east was 9.5 km from my home I paid him 150. lesson learnt; that's it.

My mom was amazed to see the size of flat. I'm from Bombay, all flats are made with space saving design. Real Estate is obscent thing in bombay. Same size home would cost aroundf 1.2 Cr now in the area where I live in Bombay.

We talked with family and friends in Mumbai after reaching here. We talked in length about the family where my parents' have fixed my wedding. I haven't seen her face to face. A complete arranged match. Funniest thing, most of the people do goto my ansestoral home for due diligence. It has happened in past. :-) When they come to know about the lans owned, the pucca makan and the name my father has, they become hesitant to look forward for the match. don't know why, but they must be thinking about very high demand for a Engineer guy with this kinda status.

Someone from her side had come asking about my dad and he saw the makan and he was aware of the lands owned by my father (not to forget my father and uncle are not legally separated and they joined hold lots of land). Was very very funny to hear all these. Lots of things....

Most important thing. For the first time in life my mom referred to her elder son (he died few days after birth, I never saw him even my dad never saw him) w/o tears in her eyes. In fact just this thing made to write today. My elder bro death has deeply seeded impact on not just parents but Nirmal and Indu didi. And the reason behind me being a highly pampered kid is not just this. I'm not getting right words to express it. For first time she was not sad referring to him (Still wished him to be alive). It was a beautiful day.

I had good food in Bangalore.

Trip to Mandya

Well, I spent a good time with the members of Bangalore Motoring Club at Java City, Lavella Road. They have meeting every Friday from 7:00 PM by default. For me it was very confusing to go there as Bangalore is full on One Ways and No Entries. But some how I managed to be there in time. I was introduced to people in the club. That was a real friendly and warm welcome. They had a plan of going to Mandya CCD, around 70 km from Bangalore, for a cuppa coffee. Brilliant idea! for a biker. Time passed while chatting. I still don't know most of them by face as well as name, but they all became friend in just one meet. [:)]

The starting point of the trip was Shell petrol pump () on Bangalore-Mysore Highway (SH 17) and all had to meet by 10 PM. As I was staying way too far and was not even knowing the way to reach, I left home by 8:30 without having food. I was not having any gloves and I knew that it was going to be big pain to ride in cold wave. I was lucky enough not to be confused by people of Bangalore this time and fortunately reached there by 9:20. I just stood by for some time and after 10 minutes I just called up Naveen to check out how far he had reached, assuming that it would take him around 45 minutes to reach there. I still don't know about it. Was very very disappointed to hear that they haven't finished with the food and would be arriving by 10:30. Wooow.. that was pretty bad. The way Naveen had asked to be in time next day at Shell Petrol pump while leaving weekly meet, as if they would leave behind the people not in time.

Well, I had nothing to do so thought to call up friend. I was surprised by her calmness. The call went a quite long, but that was usual. When I hanged up, I saw a guy looking at me with curiosity. He came towards me and asked "BMC??" and I said yes. Well, both were very happy to see someone there for ride. His name was also Ashish and looked restless just as me. We talked for a while and then went to buy something to eat as I had noting. Luckily, Shell Petrol Pumps have a retail shop with packed food items. Ashish Jr picked up a 7 Up My Can. I picked up Lays and a health drink suggested by him. I was willing to foot the bill but he refused saying different accounts. Well, OK!The health drink he suggested was good in taste.

I thought to get air pressure checked in my tires as I was feeling there was less air. When I got it check, I held my breadth to see that was just 9 psi (standard being 34). Lucky never met an accident. We all started by 11:45 and I knew that people would not be coming back by 3. My bike partner (who is suppose to ride strictly in parallel) was someone named Chaudhary; working at Tata Indicom. Except me everyone in the club is a localite and borne and brought up in Bangalore.

I don't know how far, but after 45 minutes at junction all had stopped for a tea and sweet bun. Reminded me of the days at Koramangala. Naveen sternly wanred me for not being in line. When you are in ride, you have to maintin a distance from the lead and try to be at consistent distance from him. We were just riding in parallel and lost the leader. Gang took another break after half an hour. We reached Mandya CCD at around 1 AM. It was very cold. This CCD is around 100 pax. All were watching us. We had to change the parking location as it was blocking the way to main parking. We all sat outside. HP was borned in garage, BMC was borne in Coffee Joints. I had difficulties understanding and explaining myself about ideas as being banglorian all used to speak in Kannada. But Aseem had specific time with my idae and he welcomed by ideas about upcoming website of BMC, Photo hosts, copyrights, standard formats etc. All in the group had something to contribute. Mechanics, Real Estate, Bikers, Garment Industry, Rally driver, navigators. Wow... perfect blend for a beautiful club. All talked about the previous trips. the reason behind the Club. It was a lovely chat.

I was somewhat hungry so thought to have choco vanila cake. That was really yummy. I used Ticket coupon to purchase it, first by in last 2 months using Ticket. not that was time to hit back. As soon as the group came out, we saw Alemari was showing the tire burn. Simply great. and now the best thing of the trip. Ashish Jr showed us a stunt. He drove his Pulsar with both leags on right side only for around 2-3 km. I have seen such stunts by Army jawans during my childhood but in personal life was amazing.

There are lots of thing... the flat tire of the Esteem and Leg guard break down, Pulsar with Safety, remote start.

We all stopped around 5 km before the start for Mysore flyover. From here people ouwld be going their ways to homes. Me and Jr decided to go together as none of them was going to take the flyover. We had drove around 3 km (Jr was around 100 m ahead of me), suddenly my rear tyre making wired noice and its intensity was directly proportional to the speed. Jr turned back and came to me. He looked at the drum and said that was a small alignment problem and should get fixed next morning. I though was OK. But again the noice was not willing to stop. I stopped. Thought to check it once. and now I see a 4 inch nail pierced though tyre. Luckily not though tube. but the tyre was holding it very badly and we had no plier or any other instrument to puck it out. Out of luck. Suddenly a rick came close to us and stopped. We asked him if he had plyer or something. That driver just looked at us and went ahead. He had come looking for business. Jr tried to remove the nail and he almost removed it. Last 1 inch looked impossible as nail had bent and grip was very tight. He had already tore my cur chief to do so. HE waited for a minute and retried. Voilla! he removed it. Hats off to your dude. 4:15 in morning. I would have had got stranded there for hours. We separated our ways at Cubban road. I reached home by 5 AM.

Will be updating as and when I think of more questions. This is my list of question I generally ask if ask to interview a candidate. But keep in mind, this is just for initial cut off. Second round will have unique practical questions. Depends upon how much you have got to explore MicroStrategy.

Finally out of MicroStratgy project at Cybage

Well it happened in March or something, but I didn't ask anyone about it. Cybage has a practice of not introducing a newbie unless he is well versed, but worse is if you are replacing someone good who left company/project, you will not be introduced to MicroStratgy for a real long time. I was a undisputed defect (main deliverable to client) finder within 2 months but I was introduced to MicroStrategy only after release of 8.0. They took 202 days to introduced me to MicroStrategy. They gave me absurd reason about having introduced 3 people who joined after me. This is sad story of Cybage all together.

BTW, I was (kinda) demoted by having shifted to Front-End team from Back-End team on MicroStrategy in Cybage. Reason, I used to wear (and still) funky cloths to office, Limp Bizkit style. Frond-End team does QA of Desktop products and Administration where as Back-End team does QA of Configuration settings and NCS. Bank-End testing has steep learning curve. I do not know Narrowcast Server and Customization well. I was categorically kept away from both.

In spite of all these, MicroStrategy@Cyabge was the best job. It was all new technology. Getting trained by some of real hardcore guys. Person responsible for Analytical Engine (Hani) has been working at MicroStratgy for a decade and he is a gem of person. He has showed us the bugs in MicroStrategy in a hardcore technical manner. I really really liked that. I know how to fake the output of a report completely. There is a secret tool using which you can directly communicate to MicroStrategy Metadata. Last but not least, you can created a report using the Object IDs. Yes, just using Object IDs. But that tool (I won't name it) is full of bugs. When I sat full, really full. That has been created by Engine team for internal use and they know to use it. There are no checks, you can enter whatever you want, but these guys won't go wrong.

This partiality is a common issue with Cybage. I know it is everywhere but Cybage has to 3-4 times more than the companies I work after leaving Cybage. Specially you feel sucked when your PM (Gurvinder Singh Chhatwal) tries to discredit you for the appreciation that you receive from Client. MicroStrategy is considered a client who will not easily appreciate offshore employees, but I received appreciation for "delaying 8.0 SP2 UNIX build for more than two weeks". I not only found a show stopper issue with the build that was going to be GA also gave them the workaround. When client appreciated the same, there was a long mail then usually sent by MicroStrategy and it was full of talking about that UNIX issue I uncovered, PM forwarded to All Managers to CEO he just forgot to mention me. When I asked his about the same, he asked to do that next time and he would definitely do it. Man, you don't have Olympic every day or month. Don't wanna say anything more than this. BTW, my PL, for whom I was a bone of contention, left Cybage and has joined MicroStrategy. This guy named Paramjeet Singh Sidhu (valid Orkut login required) is a a best guy in fixing and setting up and office politics. All people who left Cybage while he being the PL, mainly due to the fact that he wouldn't have let them grow in the team. This guy will go to any level of politics for progress. Some happiness taht Lopea (SR QA Manager) is among my connection on LinkedIn.

Tubthumping

Today was a so-so morning. I got up by 9:45. Gawd, that was too late. Generally I get up by 9 on holidays without any problem. Otherwise, I feel dizzy even if I get by by 8:30. Mainly due to the fact that I go to bed by 2 and sleep by 3 or something. My life style (or being a not changing the late night book/magazine reading habit) is main reason.

I gave another rinse to the cloths had good bath. Thought to make tea of my own, but I screwed up as I added milk powder into hot water. My bad. Don't like walking even though the tea shop is just a 30 seconds walk from home. My knee pains constantly as I have started wearing shoes for last two weeks. Today, I am wearing ¾ pant after a long time. Finally I had got it washed (and dried) after a long long time.

Right now my Winamp play-list contain my old (and gold) fav, like Chumbawamba - Tubthumping, Madonna - Beautiful Stranger, Goo Goo Dolls - Iris, Smash Mouth - I'm a believer, U2 - Where the streets have No Name.

After a real long time

Today was going to be a hectic day. But luckily it wasn’t. Last evening when I finished CMAS LoanIQ audit, I realized that lots of binning was not so good. But I was happy to as it was for the first time I was performing Audit independently. Mani was not leave. This Audit is too good. I haven’t received any feedback/comment on Audits I had done in last two days. Damien and we were too busy to waste time on this. He was assigning new work as we were proceeding with the tasks. I corrected the Audit. For correction I took a bit of time as even one variable is not so properly audited, whole audit has to be run oven again. Not really a painful thing but why to have iteration. I already had enough of iteration and now know how to capture variables properly.

Just at 12:15 we get a mail about status meeting to be held on November 9th. I immediately replied to Damien letting him know about it. He immediately posted a meeting request for 12:45. Well, no one had his home number and around 15 minutes were spent locating his number. I asked Mani about the mails to be replied to Rong and Eddie, so that he has loan and vector “scored” file for audit ready when he comes back to office on Monday. Now I have a big job: Population Report. I have never seen and worked on it. All I know that Mani uses an Excel file for report. With lot of limping I finished the performance report. It took me triple time then I had expected for myself. Mainly due to COLUMN Names having spaces in it. It already delayed the audit and also the population report. It is good that I’m seeing a tough time. It will make me good.

Rajendra, whom I had requested to change weird of storing date to perfect one, wanted to leave and he had not completed what I was looking for but had almost solved the pain. It took me just 30 minutes to workaround the numeric dates to be perfect in chart. There are lots of problems when we show month in a Pivot chart. One can play around with its format in Report but in chart it is painful and if I get text in chart, sorting is jumbled up. Hats off to Rajendra for helping out in this time. He has also created some more pivot reports and chart which are eye candy. Even the people in PartyGaming PLC could not make such graph.

Now I have huge task for playing around with SAS® dates. I have to map lots of fields to a source file based on some criteria, but SAS dates conversion is a tricky thing. I could not do it w/o some guidance; at least for the first time also there were SQL included in this. I am still not well versed with hand writing SQLs, though I’m too good in troubleshooting it. I decide to send a mail with status and leave, even though that was just 4:15. BTW, whole floor was empty by lunch.

I come home by 5:00. Had to rinse cloths for a week, they were lying in bucket without any attention. It had started generating a characteristic bad odor. It happens if let your cloth soaked for 7 + days. I decide to do it after cleaning the home. Took me around half and hour to do it. I stay alone in a 3 BHK (1600 sq feet) flat. I rinse the cloths but don’t let it hang for drying. I consider letting cloth dry in night a bad omen. So not room but the bathroom where cloth were lying had that smell, though its intensity was not so worse.

On even of Diwali, I must eat something good. I was bored of eating in US chain restraints. So I decide to ride 7 km to go to a Vada pao shop. I was not hungry so I didn’t find Vada-pao really good. I had a Grill Sandwich too. This shop in Indira Nagar (Mumbai Masti) serves ethnic Mumbai Vada Pao. I like it a lot. Had a stomach full of junk food.

I used to write my blogs locally and intended to publish them when having got internet connection, but I lost all those blogs in a HDD crash. But In brief, I have started working for a Mortgage Analytics company. I’ve just completed 3 months over here. I have finished more than 3 years on MicroStrategy now. Mervyn, whom I consider my best friend, has got married now. Randolf’s dad, who is a real noble soul, had gone into coma and after having recovered had lost his 15 years memory. Miraculously he has completely recovered. I think God for this. Telis uncle is the most harmless (world is rude) I have met in life. My nephew Utkarsh has started talking a lot and can talk non stop. I subscribed to LinkedIn, my only subscription in last 7 years after Google. I’m too much concerned about online privacy. I know Google is the Privacy beast. I’ve rented a flat close to office. I’ve got all things here including a DTH connection. My marriage plans are in full swing. Parents are seeking all proposals very seriously. He won’t get time for me, but these people he has lots of time. I just hate it. Last but not least. I feel my father loved his grandchildren (my nephews and nieces) more than me and I just feel damn damn jealous. I have first right of their love and affection. He had gone to planetarium with them, where I could go only because of school trip.

Just 6 years to Sanju baba

Finally the verdict is out on Sanjay Dutt about his involvement in 1993 bomb blast. The !@#$%^&*() b****** youth icon could have had stopped whole bombing. His f****** knew about conspiracy but he sat on that information. He never had any threat from underworld. Generally, movie star are under threat from mobsters. On top of this, he can still appeal in supreme court.

This guy wept and shivered in TADA court, but what about those lives who are lost. Needless to say, B K Thakeray had helped Sanjay Dutt to get him out of court. It is very well known about the deal that happened between Shiv Sena and Late Sunil Dutt, father of Sanjay Dutt. Incidently, Sanjay Dutt's father used to run for election from the constituency in which I live. He is said to be having good behavior and he got convicted under Arms Act not TADA. I don't know what action Judge Kode is going to take on sting operation by a TV channel on the lawyer of Sanjay Dutt. It is very interesting that the person who gave, disposed and transported the arms to and fro Sanjay Dutt were charged and punished under TADA but he who kept arms at his home managed to skip the stringent law.

He is one of them and must be hanged. Court must set an example. The photos of Blast still linger in my mind very much. He could have had stopped it. Just because you are a honest, loved person doesn't warrant you right to help people who waged war against the nation.

I lied

I wanted to post this for 2-3 days but lazy. I had nothing important to do on Monday so was reading old mails. I happen to see the mail taht I had sent to Ashok (FIC HR) immediatley bfore the offer was rolled to me. There was a column for Reason(s) for Leaving and I had put "Not good exposure to Technology". What a joke. I never faced so many challenges in any MicroStrategy prject in my whole life till now. Loblaw came out to be best of best.

Accident pe accident

I travel to and fro office with Mayuresh as there is immense pain in last three toes if I drive (and good for both of us as we stay in same building). On 3 km stretch of inner ring road there is just one place to take U turn, so road is jammed durin peak hours near taht u turn. One can pass through the jam in 30-60 second (50 m stretch). Well, the scooty in line of my bike around 20 meters ahead of me skidded off on sand which had become line mud due to heavy rains very early morning. Mayuresh asked me to pick up the scooty. I was pretty afraid of picking up the bike due to the weak joints after accident and moreover I was not confident of picking up. This female had skidded off exactly the same location where I met accidnet, just another side of road.

We were destined to meet accident. Mayuresh had mood to have good tea and in whole area there was only one good place to have good tea : Hotel Gangotri. But we had to take a conventional, longer and heavily trafficted route to reach there. Generally, we take a short cut so as to avoid traffic. Around 70 meters away from the signal, he was at 55-60. He applied break. That was late braking, at least as per me. My braking is very smooth, specailly I know I have to stop. (common, it is red lights, I cna't ram into the cars and jump signal). Street lights were not working. Immediately after braking, bike ntered into a proper (and very dangerous) mud area around 20 meters long. Bike skidded mildy and he gain control of bike once again as Mayuresh released break. But he again applied break as he had to stop. Everytime he applied break bike skidded and everytime he released brakes he gain control. Bike was travelling in zigzag. This happened 7-8 times. He could not let bike brake relased and go smoothly as we had reached very close to the cars stopped at red lights. Finally he applied full brakes. Bike skidded and I fell off. While trying to jump (and land safly being injured in right leg), I strained my right thigh a bit. Bike got some scratches on leg guard and mirror. We escaped unhurt, lickily. One thing I must say, the accident was aviodable but Mayuresh handled it extrenely well too.

Monday Night Fever

When I reached home, I had felt extremely tired. Don't know that was due to lack of sleep or fever. I reached Comfort Home at 8:15. Planned not to watch TV. As soon as I lyed down on bed I fell asleep. I never get sleep so fast. I received a call from Karthik too, but was in deep sleep. I got up at almost 10. Strangly my hip, knee and ankle joints were in significant pain. It happend after a good break since I met accident. Knew that no good hotel would be open and I still had temperature, I though to just have sandwitch and juice at Juice Junction. Sandwitch as susual was tasteless, juice was great but was chilled, something I'm not suppose to have.

Pizza "Hut"

[19th July]
Hut - Get away in Hindi

I'm fond of Domino's pizza and never been to Pizza Hut which is a even closer than Domino's. But I thoguht pick up some pizza from Pizza Hut. I was told that it would be ready in 16 minutes.

Something I must say, Pizza Hut is more process oriented and people with smile. Pizza Hut Cash register is a chaos. They keep change in pockets. Mostly forget to or just don't give remaining change. And Pizza Hut is a proper Dine in Restarunt, where as Domino's is a Self Service. BTW, Koramangala branch is trying with a proper Dine-in concept. But, I still like Self Service.

Well, 27 minutes had passed and my patience was running out to wait. Someone named Kishore came and said that there was something wrong with Pizza cooking and he would require 5 minutes more to get it done. Damn annoyed of losing sight of my Credit Card for payment as the phone line at the cash register was not working, his refest just freaked me out. I just insisted taht I would rather like to goto Domino's and I asked him to cancel credit card payment. With persitent request he obeyed. I got a VOID SALE credit card receipt and left. Lucky, I was saved from eating pizza of Pizza Hut. Soemthing that I have liked on Pizza Hut is Garlic Bread Spicy Supreme, but they have chnage the recipey since I had for the first time at Hyderabad. It is not so Hot anymore and they use big pieces of Green Chillies. I really miss that.

When in Trouble, all troubles just looking for your address

[July 17th]

I asked my freind Mayuresh about the memebership of Ghar ka Khana (http://www.gharkakhana.net/gharkakhana/index.php) eatry. He said that one need to use the coupons (5 in number) withing 8 days of purchase. I found that to be quite managable. I eat to chains a lot and Koramangala is full of eating places. Maximum in whole Bangalore (http://bangalore.burrp.com/establishment/search.html?n=Koramangala)

I still have problem kicking the bike. Use my left leg to kick start the bike. All generation of Honda Unicorn have one problem : Start. Cold start is bad dream. You must give choke for a cold start. Sadly, after the repair, bike idle has been decresed to 0.9 to 1.0 instead of 1.3 to 1.4. So, I have more problem starting bike. I need to stand on my right leg when kicking bike. A painful experience.

Well, I finshed food and reached bike. I was struggeling to kick start bike. For no apparent reason, bike didn't start after 20 kicks. My right leg was in pain. I never faced such aproblem even with kick start. I rested for a while, gave full choke and restarted kicking bike. I was kicking with full force but in vain. Realy really frustrated. A guy who was near me saw me struggeling with kicking. He came forward and asked if I was injured and want help to start bike. Wow.... he was an angle.. I told him about my accident. That guy had met an injury with his left leg. [:)]. He kick started in 5-10 kicks. Still pretty high number of kicks. I sat on bike and switched on the lights. Wooooof... bike stopped... That guy was not far. He came once agian started the bike. I didn't keep bike in idle mode (neutral with no acceleration). I zoomed from there. A heavy day. My calf muscle was paining a lot. It seems my boone bruises have healed, otherwise muscle just above bone would swell quite good .

I need to get bike fixed for idling and speedometer shows wrong result. I came to know it next day.

Stop Billing

I seriously don't understand what does that mean. Billing... and Me. I'm not Stakeholder or DH at covansys to be doing or worried about Billing.

Well, I feel this decision was taken because I refused to come to office on Weekend :-) owing to tear in ligament. So far I have been coming on weekdays inspite of accident, but the moment I refuse to come, there is backlash like this. BTW, I havn't been doing anything for this project since last two and half weeks. This mail is just gonna make me feel down. they wanna convey to me "They can live without me", which I don't hink is impossible. But this kind of treatment is some what dishearteneing, specially by my PM, who is not a typical manager. He is a manager with ears, eyes and heart. I don't know who polluted him.

Just got a good liner from Priyanka on this situation.

Being a good person is like being a GoalKeeper,

People will remember only the one, that u missed !!!!!

=====
Update 30th July

I met my PM after release letter being handed over. I always wanted to talk with him on this topic as why a (good) person like him will do somethng like this to me . I'll alwasy speak my mind. Well, he cleared that it was his own decision to put me out of project and gave me the reasons behind it. Not just convincing but true. I believe him very much. He remines me of my TL at Base Technologies. In factwhen I met hime for the first time, I was surprised (He looked very similar to Srikanth) and his (Pandian's) behaviour was very good .

Old Memory Lane: Really reminds me of my those days of BaseTech. It was a very small team of 5 people. All of age 21-22. Full of crazy ideas to do in life. Inspite of dot com doom, we used to think of doing something great. Well, I still talk about some ideas that we had planned then. Only deterrent was the money to initiate.

Dream On.. err... Hop On

something very true in case of me so far in my professional life......

Dream On by Aerosmith (was also performed by them when I attended their show on June 2nd at Palace Grounds)
----
Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isnt that the way
Everybodys got their dues in life to pay

I know what nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know its everybodys sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life is in books written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know its true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away
(x2)

Dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on...

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tears
Sing with me, if its just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away

Why is He angry on me?

(writter on 26th June)

I just had a long argument (or fight) with Technology Director about my reaease by 13th of July. It went for long. As the last date is decided by Company, I was helpless, but more helpless I felt by his words "Do whatever you can". Well, I had no options to actually accept this words. For so many dasy, he had been avoiding specifically talking on my release date and when he was left without reasons/excuses I got this treatment. I just feel taht I'm doomed to be life this. Working in good
technologies, with lots of enthuasism but leaving my all employer on bad not. some time I feel bad about working in a hard to find technology, casue when you want to seperate, you have harrowing time or bad time.

When I was with Base, just out of college with crazy ideas. I used to still think of some venture even after the doom time and office mates were very much interested in it. Taht was a good serious time pass. But I left basetech after a bad treatment by Indian boss. He was a typical Indian Boss. Managing his brother's compnay in India and thinking people in Software are highly overpaid and to justify the salary must work for 25 hrs a day. and I would not sit in office more than 9 hours [:)]. So, one fine day I just thought to call it quit. I had come early the day I had decided to leave. My boss came at 11:30 and I left Base immediately after giving him an oral resignation and he said fine. Regret leaving. One big lession learnt, no matter what ever has happened, don't be emotional and leave unless you have an offer in hand. Only time applied : Covansys.

Then finally did CDAC. Hope to do some magic with new compnay, Cybage. Though, cybage is my most hated employer I just love MicroStrategy. MicroStrategy was the best soul satisfying work I have had. But my PL found me too much to handle. I would ask him to go by rules and regulations of company. He had good setting with the PM. Consistent ouperformer for months but was treated shabbily during my notice period. A person who could not be matched even though I didn't work for 5 motnhs for next appraisal at Cybage. Cybage did a lot of problem for my Full & Final settlement. My PL (Paramjeet Singh Sighu) went to extent of asking HR not to issue release letter, which I got pretty easily.

Enter Saama. Here work is already planned for next month. PM is technically quite well and I realized how good it can be when you have tech savvy PM, even though he had not done technical stuff for long. But, The ego of my TL took a big toll on me. My work was alwasys on scheduled but rest of team used to site last night on daily basis as there were a lot on under estimation, technical challenges, client was getting greedy and delay from client side. Wehn not having work, I would go on talking spree. He would make complaint to my PM, like this boy is browing google earth, maps, news for whole day. When my PM discussed this issue, I had just one reply, was there any problem with my work, quality of work and time line? but it became

a bit too much, when their delay started affecting me. They were handling SDK and ETL and I was doing MicroStrategy. I was not working with live data and wanted to check my work for long. My TL was technically super strong, he would kill you if you
notify him his even single mistakes. He somehow managed to sideline 9 year experience DBA for design for database during the initial phase. He had some mistakes and I knew that would impact MicroStrategy design. For quick reference that was Double counting error. Well, the issue had to come one day and he started blaming rest. even DBA. for his it was a sin if anyone left earlier than him. Well, I decided to leave him. Sadly the new project came for me when I had almost through the interview.

Now come Ivy, Offshoer development of PartyGaming. Loved everything about it. Flat hierarchy, good raise, good food, home just 2 km from home, 10 to 7 office, too much of new learning, lots of chichks (It had its call center), good experience MSTR people. Dream last just 50 days.

Covansys..... Mumbai.... Office @ JBNagaar.. Loved it for the same.... stones throw away from home...But decided to leave when the HR became to carelss and on top of that Technology director, asked to leave if I didn't like.

why me for all this trauma. People will have a first impression about me that I'm a kinda person whol love hopping job but every time I had genuine concernes. After my CDAC, I have seen biggest and fastest growth in career in terms od domain and package, but who the hell is realy interested in hopping. Those bastards made my life hell at Cybage else MSTR still my best work. I'm gonna join a new job son with salaray more than 5 times of what I received at Cybage 3 years back, but mamma wants me to come to Bombay for mere 1.2 lac PA. That's acceptable.

"Significat" NO tear in knee muscle :-)

On 19th of June, I was ------- happy. I had worked till 3:30 AM morning and had come home. Got up by 11:30 and rang Santhosh. He could not confirm if ther were any new issue with reports, but the work that I had done till early morning was very satiafying and I knew no more new issues would come up unless BRD changes or functioal changes. Well, I was driving too fast being happy. On Inner Ring Road, on of the deadliest turn I was too fast to handle the turn and collided with devider. Deep bruses on right arm and severe pain in rihgt knee. "I am surrounded by people and the traffic has come to halt. I'm able to walk." One guy lifts the bike and gets it on the foot path side. Everyone looking at me. All asking if I need to be taken to hospital. I found myself in walkable condition with some pain and bruises and opt to goto office driving that screwed up bike and get medical attention from office doctor. I guy offered following me till the office which I readily accepted. He took his route when I took a U turn for office. God bless him for his much needed care.

Upon seeing those deep bruises, the assistant doctor get scared. For first time in my life I saw a scared doctor. I cleap up the injury with a solution before anotaher soluction is applied on the injuries by her. Main doctor was pretty fine with the injuries and suggested a oinment to be applied every morning. I came to my desk. Everyone was shocked to see those injuries. I hadn't taken the injection as suggested by Dr., as I'm damn damn scared of needle. Finally I get help from Pradip. He comes along while getting a titnus injection. It was not at all painful, luckily.

After the call, I asked my Service Line Manager (DW/BI is a service line here at Covansys) if he could arrenge me a cab for St John. Lucky me. I went to Hospital and got myself checked in Orthopedic OPD. He suggested me two X-Rays. Nothing was abnormal in those. No broken or fractured bones. But he caustioned me if the pain in rihgt leg would not ease in next 10 days, I would require some more treatment. I took that by pinch of salt. I could walk very well, till next day morning.

when I got up next day, there was tooooooooooo much of body pain. I was hit by helmet several times when it impacted on the ground. I had some pain on skull and face. Whole body was paining. I called up my Manager and told him about my inability to come to office.

These days and even now are like an agony. I never faced anything like this (being alone in a tough time). Brought up in a highly protective environment. Haven't told my parents about this accident yet.

30 June, Saturday, Right knee still in quite some pain. I get the bike stationed at the Service Station at Jakkasandra. As the head light was broken had come off from the front casing, it had very scary look. Everyone along the way from Office to Station gave me staring looks. A guy called Charan gave me the address and procedure for filing claim. Pretty nice of him. I reached home and went to St John Hospital in same rick. Dr. Rajkumar examined me again. I asked me to tighen the kne cap keeping the leg straight. I had terrible pain while doing do. Apart from this, I had pain in calf muscle. He suggected me a chnage in medication and MRI.

MRI center was too scary. There is a giant hole in which your body will be passed and that machine makes scray noice while generating the magnetic waves.

when I came back home after MRI, I inspected my helmet. It had worn many places. Scratches were 1 mm deep at two places and not to forget n number of scratches. I'm writing this blof because of that helmet. I was in tear when I saw the codition of helmet even now while writing all these. ----... what a life man... why the ---- i was too fast for taht turn. So much of pain and trouble.. I learnt my lesson when I saw my helmet. I am not sure if I would goto my planned 30 days adventure going around places in India in Nov-Dec.

I could not goto see Dr on Monday as there was work. Left early on Tue and collected the MRI report. OPD DR (Rajkumar) found a descripency in the report. For one of the muscle, MRI Dr wrote no tear as well as significant tear. Dr Rajkumar asked me to return the report and get the fresh report with correction. I did so.

Next day (4th July), I could not reach in time to OPD and so thought not to get the report as carrying those A3 size images would not be easy and I ahd to bring them in OPD next day itself.

Just confirmed that report is ready and would be available. Also I'm leaving by 6 PM office bus (it's last stop happens to be St John Hospital). And my bike has been inspected by insurance company.

Leave if you don't like (I did it in a week)

[Written on Jun 5th]
This mail actually surprized me. I was on VPN not checking my mails only once a while. I was shocked to read "Despite all the statements made here, I am in full appreciation of all the hard work done by my colleagues in HR." by my Manager. Just 10 minutes ago of reading this mail I had gone to him to speak from my side and he used "s!@#Wed up" word for HR. Well, I have never ever heard any PM using such firece comments in my life.

Let us dig into this a bit. I had sent mail to Chitra asking about the Disturbance Allowance missing from Salary (1st June). I was replied there would be check and would get back to me. My manager was part of the CC. Well there was usual HR inaction (as I'm awaiting a reply from BALASUNDAR Aparna for the resumes I had reffered). Worse than even Cyabge. At least they reply with negative in 15 days time. It had been months since I have sent 3 resumes. There was no action of talk on the same by my Manager. But when I let out my anger on HR, voila, my Manager got furious. He threatened to fire me. Do that to me dude. Is asking for your rights is so much concered. Aren't you ashamed that I had to shout for myself. He told me that people those who work under him woudl like hiim very much and that's the best appreciation for me. Well, I really do not care what rest of think of you as manager. No manager had ever spoken about "firing you" in my whole life. And well, he is trying to scare who has already seen all these. [:)] "If you don't like it, LEAVE" that were his words. Well, I'm not a quitter. Zindgi mein acheche achchon ko seedha kiya hai. Well, now I have become smooth for all such managerial bullcrap.

Those who know me well, know that with Ashish there is no XXXXing room for hickups, mistakes and must be at time supposed to be. Errors (w/o reasons) freak me out big time.

Aerosmith was Gawd f***ing great

[written on 3rd June]
I had come to office on Saturday as there were some critical issues to be fixed. I was lucky to find workaround for and object prompt comtaining hierachy prompt and filtered object prompt to be accepted by a report. Previously the option ws greyed out. I was getting damn pissed over it. You can create such a prompt but you can't use it. Last but not least, Santhosh helped me getting a ApplySimple correct. I though that would take half an hour but with his help it was just 5 minutes. Remember: he is a completely non-MSTR guy. I left office at 3:10 PM. We were trying to get the correct Unit Sold at that time. But the function was not able to access two tables in one SQL statement. Don't know how taht will go.

I took a rick for Domlur Bus Depot. Rs 12. Asked a cunductor for a bus to Shivaji Nagar. Santhosh had suggested to goto Shibaji Nagar by bus as that would be easy and from there I could catch a rick to reach the venue. Well, there was no bus and I was getting impatient. Those know know, know it well that I can't stand in queue. Took a rick for Palace Ground. The bloddy driver knew it well that I wanted to know to main gate, but he entered the Palace Ground Road from back side. Caused me a 15 minute delay. Fare 86.50. I gave him Rs. 100 note. Driver said if that was alight keeping the note. I replied WTH. Had it been Mumbai the driver might have returned me Rs 14 or 15. This bugger thinks "ki software mein haram ka paisa milta hai". Bastards. He gave me Rs 10 back grugingly.

I entered the place. There was a bad arrangement of parking. I just roamed the place. This was still qyuite far from the show ground. I though to have something before entering as I would be eating/drinking anything till the end of show. I got out and searched for a shop. No shop close by. I bought two Nestle Milkybar. I like that choclate very much. I had the choclates by the time I reached back the venue and joined a queue. It had started moving. after 15 minutes I was still quite far, TOPS Security (Compnay big name in private sucurity, FYI, banned in Mumbai) realized to announce that females needed to be in a seperate queue (there freasking is inside temp closed area). Finally my chance came, The guy checked my socks too. Was carrying cell, bike keys and Covansys ID in hands. After this, I had to get into the main queue for Rs 1800 (Blue Section). That queue was zig-zag, and helped me getting in one of the first among firsts. I had pass through another xray machine. Strangly, machine didn't beeped at all when I crossed.

I got to stand just 5 meters away from the stage and 2-3 meters from the ramp (coming out of stage) making a T like structure. I spoke with fellow fan. I was in by 5:45 then. In mean time lots and lots comments were passed by fans on crew, security, instruments checkers, a guy called Nachappa whose GF entered at 7, lights man, camera man, all peeps and that was very obvious as there was no sign on Aerosmith till 8:15 and peeps had gather from 5:30. Well, all angers vanished when they rocked on the stage. Well, stage was pitch balck, all lights turned off but the back screen was showing an Indian flag hoisted. It dind't take a second for me to that Aerosmith are gonna open with "Taste of India". (when while writing I'm feeling great). The rock party went till 10:45. Time full of enjoy, fun, excitement and seeing Aerosmith in flesh probably once in life time.

Setline is as follows:
Taste of India
Elevator
Fallin In Love
Cryin
Eat The Rich
Jaded
What It Takes
Baby Please
Seasons
Dream On
Last Child
Edge
Stop Messin
Sweet Emotions
Draw The Line
Walk This Way

They sung "Don't wanna miss a thing" as bonus song (even though tyler promised for two).

I got out was had to search for a rick. No rick was willing to come unless paid twice of fair. Palace Grounds in 15-20 km from Koramangala. I got talking about two guys while asking the way towards M G Road (which would be on way to Koramangala).
I asked a Pulsar rider if he was going MG Raod and he said he was going to Koramangala. Wow.. I asked him if he could rop me and voila. I was extremely worried of sleeping without dinner as all eatries put shutter by 9 in Bangalore, except few bigs once and of course Domino's. While on bike I came to know he was working in Intel and was actually staying at BTM, even farther from Koramangala. I asked him if he could drop me at Domino's on 80 feet road. My place was around 2-3 km out of way for him. Well, I could say he didn't like it but still he dropped me. He was like an angle to me. I don't think I could have had reached by 11:30 to Domino's. In fact, when I placed my order it was 11:25. Had Medium combo for Rs 249 as usual. Spoke with Parents as usual at 11:30. While waiting for Pizza, I realized that I had kept the Home keys at office as they were quite long. Called Kanishk if he could open main door. But it seemed he was fast asleep, he didn't pick up the phone. Well, after some time he called me. I told him the situation. He said no problem. [:)]

Paypal is planning own Development Center in India

Thos who have seen my profile on Orkut, must be knowing that it is a dream for me to work with Paypal. Surprisingly, I was never bothered to work for that project due to "w/o leaving Mumbai" thing. FYI, Covanys is the only compnay where PayPal have outsourced and it is real big. Due to blah blah concern, PayPal project people (around 500) have a seperate building. Covansys have many big projects but no client has so specific requirement. Though eBay India is housed at Mumbai (ebay.in account required), PayPal has no presence anywhere in India. But they plan to take away all people from Covansys to setup IDC very soon.

Here come the MicroStrategy twist. There are several clients that have "direct" control over the development/feature development of MicroStrategy. PayPal is one of them. If PayPal wants then they can alter MicroStrategy. Well, don't be surprised. These compnaies (Permium clients ap er MicroStrategy iternal lingo) are the testing bed for all things created and the feedback and feature request. What suits this bigs, must suit even small compaines. That's how it work.

Life is zingalala

I had seen TATA Sky DTH service at Ashwin's place. I was very impressed by the quality of reception and features provided. SO even I booked a connection. I knew that was like buying enmity with local cable operator.

The installation guys came at the time as planned. They had all the equipment to fit the dish, but the helper seemed to be a new guy so the main guy was a bit pissed. Specially, when an important screw was missing. Still, I must say everything went smooth and within 2 hours it was done. I must say, it was really damn nice seeing the TV after the connection was setup. It was amazing. Life is really a zingalala now. TATA is not better as far as pricing, schemes and features is concerned but it beats in picture quality and customer satisfaction. My main reason to buy TATA and I feel I was not wrong. Hope everything goes well.

Oye Pappe....Isko lagaya to life ekdum zingalala...

I hate MicroStrategy, Inc.

Well... I had rightfully access to machines of MicroStrategy while working at Cybage. Not to forget that I had previlege fo lot of things. I downloaded the GA build and tried to use Internal Serial Key, but it didn't work. What does it mean? It means the GA builds are made not to accept the internal keys. If you have internal key, you can install everything... Generally the serial key itself decided what you can install but with internal keys you get all. You need to get the server activated for sure. I rememeber once Manisha gave the GA build to her friend. I was shocked and she acted as a routine. It is highly illegal. Specifically, when the copies of software available to Cybage are unrestricted. As far as I know, I'm still work with Cybage. I really regret not having got through the interview with IBM as I could have met Fransis Chao-Gay and probably Gurvinder Singh Chhatwal. BTW, Mr Chhatwal is the man behind the misadventure of Elston Pimemta. For all those who don't know, I was asked to leave for being authority over my PL (Parmajeet Singh Sidhu) during my notice period. WTF, SP3 was going to be released just 2 weeks ahead. He tried to play mind game during that 5 minute talk. Bastard, held my release letter for quite some time. I received it only after I wrote to CEO and new DH/PM of MicroStrategy project. I must say I was lucky. I wouldn't forget the way I was harassed for release letter. This is this the way they behave with the undisputed Tester. Who made #2 feel #1. I would not miss to harm Cybage by all means till the end of last breath.

A joke that reminds me of Cybage

A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised my friend I would meet him half an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man below says, 'Yes. You are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 30 feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees North latitude, and between 58 and 60 degrees West longitude.'

'You must be a programmer,' says the balloonist.

'I am,' replies the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' says the balloonist, 'everything you have told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost.'

The man below says, 'You must be a project manager

'I am,' replies the balloonist, 'but how did you know?'

'Well,' says the man, 'you don't know where you are, or where you are going. You have made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect someone to solve your problem.'

B1.... Be One

Life is full of jinx. Something I would not like to discuss. But in short I got my B1 visa interview through. Getting up early .. I hate so much.. but I had to get myself visa so as to be here at Covansys being billable... It has been 5 months having worked in my core competency... But I'm not complaining.. I'm enjoying this (professional) life less challenging. god.. I must have killed the CEO for keeping me on bench for more than 2 month and I've been 4 months on bench here.

So I finally reached US consulate at 8:10 and by mistake breached the queue. There were two queues. ONE Current and TWO anything other than current. If the 8:15 "appointment" is going on, then there would be two queue people for 8:15 appoint and rest. The 8:15 queue was not cleared till 9:30. I wanted to eat something even though I had eaten on way to consulate as well as home. I happen to get in talk this guy of Accenture. We went together for tea. I entered consulate at 11. Really puzzled cause of not having updated information on the notice boards in the interview waiting area.

I didn't believe when the interviewer said "Visa will be sent to your offer, sir". I didn't last even a minute. Wow is Now!!!

Reached office by 1:10 and sent mail to concerned person about the visa having being approved. Here I get a bombshell. APS is not considering the onsite requirement.

Bitter Sweet Home

Once upon a time I was a avid mail writer and reviewer of magazine "Digit". I was so good that the editor called me for a job opportunity. That didn't go through. I had written a sample article covering the various p2p technologies (not softwares). My old pal Kiran Pai gave me suggestion on the same. Here is the whole mail.

--
hi ashish
u had asked for SOME feedback.. but i always give LITTLE more than some ;-)
pl dont give me galis for giving stupid and minor corrections at the end of the
mail.. i basically write wotever comes to my mind.. so thats why the mail has
become so lenghty...

btw i am not sure whether this is your final copy..always nice to get it
proofread by some ppl.. since its your first article..fewer the mistakes much
better.. good impression u can make..

SOME POINTS:
>the one liners describing the softwares are pretty cool

>the 'behind the scenes' of Online File Sharing described at the end is pretty
informative.. very nice.. specially fast track P2P

> overall the article gives the reader a sound understanding of the entire file
sharing scene and helps him make the best decision..

> even the suggestion to approach the grey market for mp3s seems to be a wise
suggestion

>suggestion ..one liner for audiogalaxy : "The Powerful Galaxy of songs seems to
be shrinking.." or something like that u can write since they are blocking all
copyrighted songs.. (btw u tried searching on audioglaxay.. for metallica and it
doesnt allow u to download..since it is copyrighted...but u type mettalica (the
wrong spelling) and almost all the songs are there.. since public have changed
the filename of the mp3 and stored it. pretty stupid blocking.. napster is on
the contrary using some new tech to block songs depending on the internal file
structure rather than the file names)

>audiogalaxy resumes downloads from sources other than the original source.. u
have mentioned that only morpheus is capable of doing that.. audiogalaxy sorts
the files according to the file size..and if it finds any other source with same
file size then it starts downloading.. need not be the guy from whom u had
started the original download.. only file size exact size has to be the same

> i didnt actually see the ratings that u have given to all the softwares.. but
all the indiviual fields in Napster have more rating than audiogaalxy but the
overall grade is lesser than that of audiogalaxy.. i know that because of the
pay factor in napster..but it looks slightly wrong.. or maybe thats right..

SOME SIMPLE LANGAUAGE MODIFICATIONS THAT U MAY BE INTERESTED IN (OR RATHER NOT):
> A variety of parameters were looked : A variety of parameters were considered
> The pioneer of the online file sharing : The pioneer in the online file
sharing scenario
> Previewing of partially downloaded file is really useful as on one need to
change the extension and then back to old extension. : Previewing of partially
downloaded files is useful since it avoids the need to manually rename the
partially downloaded files for playback
>For India users : For Indians OR Users in India
>upwards bandwidth : upload BW
>If your music need is just latest mp3s and popular mp3s : If all that u need is
fresh, latest & hot mp3s then your nextdoor grey market dealer would be
selling....
>it's impossible to get onto any Gnutella P2P server : it's almost impossible to
get onto any Gnutella P2P server
>incomplete as Gnutella sucks on... : incomplete as Gnutella cries on.. (i didnt
think publications like CHip would ever use such words.. or even encourage them
from anybody at a professional level.. u have also used 'crap' which also i dont
advocate )
>new kid of the block : new kid ON the block
>and site is highly badly managed and navigation is really very bad : and the
site design is cumbersome and navaigation becomes a slight problem

yup thats it..
bye

Pune trip/treat

I finally reached 303 Ruby, Nyati Empire, kudos to the heavy road widening projects running in Mumbai and the useless driver of Raj Travels. Something that I really find strange is that drivers of Raj Travels are very slow now and would do stupid mistakes of jo8ining heavy trafficked lanes. this happened with me both ways.

Anyways coming back to the topic. First thing first. I really missed the roomies. I felt so happy for being with them after such a long time. Specially, the flat where I stayed more then next flat I moved. Victor happen to be in the same room where I stayed. He offered me that room as the couch in the hall was not suitable for me due to its short length. Entering in that very room where I lived was a great feeling. I rememeber the way I used to keep my stuff. One thing lazy butt Victor has chnaged quite a bit. Akhileh has left lots and lots of furniture and household item when are in use by Victor, Sunil and Yeshwant. Flats has total different looks now. Sooooooooooo much better. One thing, Yeshwant heads the ATG (Advanced Technology Group) at his employer (synicron) where as I am part of ATG here at Covansys. Yes, I'm no longer part of RMG (Resource Management Group) aka Bench. About being on bench for pretty long now. I don't wanna leave Covansys as of now, but if they don't assign me a project till March end a search will definitely start. One thing, I was really really lucky to get roomies like them. No offense to any of my roomies in other cities. But I have seen people who are strange, stubborn and very selfish. They were none of them. One thing, I happen to know that Sareeta is working for MicroStrategy Documentation project. Nice. A very good natured girl I've met during my college time. Orkut is great. It has changed lives forever. Na kabhi orkut hota na kabhi main ankit se milta na kabhi IvyComptech mujhe 7.2 lac ka package deta. The most important thing in life is not being lucky or great. It is being at right place at right time. My life is full of twists and turns as far as my profession goes and I'm pretty happy about it.

Next day I got the method to go into the local ISP router. Illegal!! but how can we actually call it intrusion when there is no wall and forget the gate and gate-keeper. Al I wanted to make the make my p2p to work but he has very beautifully blocked most of the "Extra service" port. He has blocked even VPN ports. That would be nightmare is someone wants to work from home. He won't be able to connect to the office at all. Even Ping was blocked. I got a good chance to see the routers settings. Victor would make use to this knowledge. Finally it the time of my much awaited treat of the "very old" new job. Finally we settled for Bamboohouse at Deccan as all of had been there and food was good and for Yeshwant any place with drinks would have done. We reached there and probably got the second last free table. Very soon after we joined that table the queue had started. I don't really all the stuff we had but food was good. Yeshant had Kajhuraho (a bitter taste beer) where as Sunil had Mild Beer. I and Victor had 2 large pegs of Vodka. He recommended a new brand. Don't recall it. The only sad part of it was the fish ordered had no spice and Yeshwant got a small cockroach in it. One thing I must say I would always miss Victor (for a being a true and good to have a talk/healthy argument and having enough knowledge about stuff to have a talk of any damn thing) and Yeshwant (very selfless). BTW, jab 10000 lazy people die one Victor comes to earth. Where as Sunil was a balanced person. No extremities of anything. Bill was not much and had ice cream at Baskin Robins while coming back I had a coffee ice cream. It was great. We reached home by mid night as no one was in mood to sit and talk. Soon we were dozing off in respective rooms. In night my roaming got deactivated of its own. F*** off Hutch. Though not much concern, but I just had this number to be contacted and I'm extremely concerned about my parents. It always lingers in my mind. That why **** off to Hutch. I shall chnage the service soon. Just waiting for this ATG cloud to get over.

Next morning (Sunday) I made tea for everyone, something that I used to do while being there and heated milk for Yeshwant to make coffee. He is all set to get his wife and kid at pune. His weekends goes very busy as due to kid Asha would not be able to any shopping. He has got his cylinder discontinued as non-usage for more than 6 months. He might take Ruby's cylinder. He was separating out the stuff he got to home (he had got lot and lots of stuff, full kitchen utensils were owned by him except very few by him) . But main itna kamina nahin hoon ki main apna saman leke jaoon. :) They watched Borat after tea and copied tons and tons of english movies and software from my HDD. They had so much of stuff to be copied that I had to stop the copying to reach the bus stand in time for coming back to Mumbai. Next time doods. Victor drops me at the Raj ravel bus stand. We had tea and Medu-wada before me taking the bus. We talked if a goa trip could be planned next month. Let us see. I take the bus and come home. I happen to meet a gal on bus who lives at JB Nagar. But we leave w/o taking down any contact number or something.

There was not "much" Business Intelligence to be in Hyderabad

I got a bloody 75 % raise for joining Ivy Comptech. Taht was nothing like it, but Hyderabad jane ke baad aate daal ka bhav malum pada. In Pune I was spending mere 7000 a month (bare minimum), but in Hyderabd my bare minimum expense was shot to 14000. And Money in account left in Bank was mere 10% more. But one thing, Ivy paid me me 3 lac for working for 50 days, was a kewl deal. Here at Covansys I save lot. Something like 6.5 lac after bare minimum expense is not bad.

Just want to sum my expense in Hyderabad.

Stay + Dinner + Tea 6000
Petrol 200
Cell Phone 1000
Travelling to Home 3000 (once in two month)
Loss of Pay (home travel) 1500
Food 1500
Others 500
----------------------------------
13700

KewL... One thing I realized if your place of work is going to require you travel and you being on your own, consider a raise of 1.5 lac at least. It make sense to go back to your home town even if there is less pay.

More financial analysis to come up.

Life on the rocks

Hey don't go by title... This was a bloody god damn good day... As Yeshwant was not in Pune I had scrapped the plans to go there during the weekend... Well, Blaise (I hope I have spelled the name right) had called me someday back for his birthday party to be on 3rd... We don't interact much so it as a bit amusing... Well.. I was asleep and my phone rings and I get up... As usual I switch on my monitor as the first job of the day.. It was 10:28 in the morning... Pick up phone... it is Blaise.. he asked me to speak with Noel urgently.. I could guess about the reason.. must be place and timing... When I spoke to Noel he asked me to get ready ASAP to got to Bandra Fort... I had heard alot about this place to "drink" by everyone... I reach the "naka" where we (I, Noel and Lawson) had planed to meet by 11:15... Lawson reaches last.. We had some crap talk for some time and planed the jounrey as station by bus, andher to bandra by train and bandra station to bandra fort by bus. We reach at station and see hugh crowd for ticket... I never saw such a large crowd ever in my life at Andheri station... We took exact fair ticket queue so had ticket in 5 minutes... We reach Bandra and decide to wait for Blaise on station itself... We reached Bandra staton by 12:15.. Just forgot when we spoke to Blaise at 11:15 he was said to be at Kandivali about to take train... I called his to ask wich train he was in and he told he was going to reach there (Bandra) in 5 minutes... A train arrives and Noel just turned back... He sees Blaise hanging out of "first" first class and as usual calls him... "gooooood"...aaahhhhh whole station was taken by a surprise... Finally we all met... usual pep talk at sation for some more time... We march to the nearest alcohol shop around a km on foot... For first time I saw a "desi". I just asked shopkeeper to show me the bottle... Its size was smaller than that of a miniature... but gives to a "khambha" kick... Blaise, Lawson and Noel were laughing... We take the supply and walk till Globus to get a rick as the one way of the road of under reconstruction... Whole lot of modern cloth shop for ladies on the load that lead from Lucky to Band Stand... and soooo many good chick too ;-)... We finally take rick and reach Hotel Searock, after which the Bandra Fort starts (actually there is a garden too).. Just at the start of this garden there was a cold drink stall... Right next to the stall there was a Police van.. We were a bit skeptical to buy "cold drink" in front of cops as they would understand that it was to be mixed with hard drink.. anyways life is too short to be afraid (at least of things like these)... We but a bottle of Sprite ( 1 1/2 l) and Big Kurkure for a 25% premium... We make out way on the bandstand rocks and reach a good place to sit... Then we realize that we forgot to have plstic bottles.. too bad for hard drinkers... Finally we manage to get and mix vodka and sprite... well.. one more problem.... the drink was too hard as per Lawson... I tried it myself.. Yuck.. It was quite hard... Well who will make way out of those stones and buy sprite.. Hey but Blasie agrees to it... We come to know the reasons later.... (He wanted the ciggies).... When Blaise was on his way to get Sprite we saw a guy in plain blue cloths franticly checking the couples... (Those who don't know... Baad stand's part where we had gone was a famous lovers's point... You will find couples having some intimate moments behind those wall of stones which has no shapes.. helps couples to have a good privacy.. Many movies have scenes of Band Stand.. I don't recall it but I shall post it when I get to see a one again) We just hid the bottle being scared of that guy as cop in plain cloth... This was a just a doubt... He seemed to be a detective or something trying to fish someone... We got scared every time he made a round but it was just a hoax... When were were tired of drinking and had quite much booze with us he came to us asking for water... We told him we had booze and he can have it.. We had quite good... :-) anyways coming back to the party of four of us... It was good.... It did not take us long to get high as the drink was still a bit hard (and not so cold)... I sang a poem on as if Blaise was rejected by Victoria... It was funny... Sang an original song with original music... Noel must be having the recording too... Everyone pulled everyone's leg for any damn thing.. We decide to leave the place from other direction (200 m walk on unleveled stones)... I cross it first and wait of rest to come... Lawson comes soon after me but Noel and Blaise were no where in sight... Actually they gave us a miss and reach the exit, another 100 m. Meantime I wash my hands in sea waves as it had got dirty making drinks and mixing. We straight reach to "Stomach" taking a stop, for Basie to buy more ciggies, in rick. I was coming to Stomach after million years break... During engineering we friends used to come here quite often... Had bloody god damn food... Specially me (I hadn't tried anything Chinese other than some soups)... By the way, I made full use of Polaroid lens gogs (of Blaise) for checking out vital stats of chicks... Lawson was fully buzzed by vodka... He was constantly seeing this girl (aunt) sitting next table behind me... Well, I used gogs... Well she was a female with "tond" probably that was the reason for her body....[given a choice between a slim-trim gal and a bit extra pound gal.. I will definitely choose a bit extra pound but "tond" is eeeeeeeeeee] I could understand what was so great for Lawson to stair her.... Her top was getting different cirls depending upon her movement on table. She was with a friend talking... We all finished the lunch by 4:45. Blaise leave for college... We took a rick to get back to save time... Then I asked Noel to play the RDB game... "Rate a girl on road"... We saw -2 to perfect 10 while coming from Stomach to J.B. Nagar... Came to know (not seen) about a gal who likes to be called "Riya Sen". We reach to Pragati Ground by 5:30 PM.... I had a peg after a break of around 70 days.. It was good... As usual (atleast for me) it is not the drink the compnay matters.... I have been with Mervyn, Dylan and Randolf for several years w/o drinking. Every time there is a party it is the company that we enjoy not booz.... 70 days.. but next break would be just 7 days.. No prizes for guessing....

I come back home and see that downloads are stopped... I solve the problem and take rest for two minutes.. Take cuppa tea and goto play (Noel and Lawson were playing already) I play good but fielding needs a lot improvement...

when we were partying, someone from Hutch had called up for the tickets lodged by me.. I just asked him to call later.. we just closed the ticket "based on my feedback". WTF... This was not the first time such a thing happened so I decided to get this thing straight.. I had to speak (rather hold) the cell for an hour to get a complaint registered again the person (Naeem Khan). I was on Xavier terrace while speaking to Hutch Customer Care...

When I was about to leave Xavier I saw Dylan coming to Xavier.... I thought to wait for him and meet him up for some time "if he was coming on terrace". Well, they indeed came and the conversation that started happen to be very interesting and long... We talked about some plan about opening up a food joint or franchise... Life.. Death... Our professional experience... Dad called as the peeps had come to play Volleyball (We play volleyball under lights every Saturday night).... We all left Xavier together... Dylan and Simone hot for a hotel for dinner... Well told me what does "on the rocks" drinking mean....

Played Volleyball and I played good.. My Volleyball is not so deteriorated... Played all positions... Came back home at half and hour past midnight.. It was Saturday so it was a "khichadi" dinner.... Yummy with desi ghee...

A Software Engineer's Day Out

Today I had a heavy task. To impart MicroStrategy into my PM and another person who works in Cognos. Heavy, as I have been sitting idle for a month and had never taken marathon session (This was going to be a long session)

There was in interview going on in the room so had to wait an hour to start the session. I won't give any details of the session because it really doesn't bother to you what I taught. Leaving all that aside. I felt very confident of training. It was a a good session. I felt damn happy. Specially they asked the doubts that I had while being a noob. Loved telling them stuff. Teaching is in blood.

We will be having another session tomorrow. Let up hope to continue with same warmth.

After office hours, I and Srikanta had gone to buy spectacles for him. A small things took us 40 minutes due to the rush and loads of offers and choices of glasses available.

Mumbai ka trafic mashaallah

Yesterday I had gone to attend a schoolmates sister's wedding. Hate not to go out on bike, but decided as I had no idea about the place, which came out to be true. I had not been to that area ever before, never had to. Well, got out by 7 from home and by 7:15 I had a shave. Reached bus stop to go to Ghatkopar (E). While traveling on bus (340), I spoke with Prafful if he was free to meet up. We had not met for quite some time, but he had office. Reached close to NASEOH, where the wedding function was going on, by 8:25. Thought to get a bouquet. I opted for a orchid flower bouquet for Rs 250 bucks. Finally managed to get one and reached the place by 9:15. Met the bride and groom. I was pleasing surprised that she remembered my name. We had never seen each other. As I had seen my friend Sudha going out just about to meet up bride, I decided straight hit for dinner plate. When I finished sweets (I eat sweet before meal as sweet increases your hunger) and a chapati, I saw her coming back. We were really surprised because we had never thought that we would ever meet up. We got the reconnection due to Orkut. I believe time was less. She asked to finished the dinner and then meet up. I finished the dinner. Something that I really like about wedding parties is that no one stares me for my unusual way of eating. Call this the bad effect of pampering. I had food and left soon. I believe that was good as Sudha must have been damn damn busy with her own relatives. I know it very well how busy you can be during wedding parties. At the time of leaving party, we planned to meet up with all classmates before she leaves back (on 11th feb).

After this the agony starts. It was 10:30 when I left. I was not out of time so decided to go by bus "somehow" (I was not knowing the place at all, so which bus to take and stop was totally deserted). I waited for 5 minutes and decided to take a rick. I had traveled just 200 meters and on the flyover there was a jam. It was damn irritating. Took me 10 minutes to get out of that traffic and the stupid Maruti Swift driver who was just ahead of us really gave the driver a harrowing time. It was past 10:45 and the road connecting Chembur and Ghatkopar was crowded. Mainly due to people jamming into No entry zone. I was shocked to see all that. Never thought people in Mumbai also do it. The the road that lest you cross Ghatkopart East to West was pathetic experience. There was three lane traffic in the no entry against us. Wow.... India teri jai hai... I reached Ghatkopar station by 11:15, a distance that would take me just 5 minutes on my bike on a zerotraffic day. Well, worst was ahead. The link between LBS Road and Asalpha which is a vital road is just 30 feet wide and mere 15 meters away from the corner there was a punctured rick. People looking to cut across all lanes adn take left right and center. Woof... There were some gentlemen who were managing the traffic and they did a pretty good job. Finally even that traffic got over. I had never thought that anyone on Sakinaka junction would ever dare to cross lights, but yes, when bus reached Sakinaka signal, there were so many bikers who jumped signal. I wised the bus crush these guys. One of them actually stood right ahead of bus negotiating the traffic, coming from right (direction) side. Driving dangerously is cool, breaking singanl is not. I just checked my watch. It was 11:40. I was shocked that such a small journey took such a long time. I reached home at mid night. For first time in life it took me more time while returning back. People in India need to improve their traffic sense a lot. I have broken lights once because I was confused if the signal does exist. Generally there is free left turn leading to high way. I go for a tea break with my teammates which is a one way. But I see a biker and have seen even buses and trucks in wrong direction. who just f*** up traffic. one bloody god damn guy screses up the whole lane in other (correct) direction.
